When you look for a private Christian church school, you may be surprised to find out how few actually exist. This is because this kind of schooling was so taboo years ago that the public even had a fear of it. Although it’s no longer as taboo as it once was, there are still people who shy away from them. But here’s the thing: it doesn’t have to be like this.
Good thing that there are now more options out there. You don’t have to worry about being refused enrollment if you’re too poor or too intelligent for the program. Or if your parents aren’t good at paying for it. Or if your neighborhood doesn’t support it or isn’t good enough for you. No matter what, there are options out there for you.
One of the most popular nowadays are charter schools. They are all the rage nowadays, especially in places like Massachusetts where they were recently legalized. They work much the same way as a regular school, but instead of receiving public funds, they get to use their own money and teachers who have a good track record. That means less corruption and better quality instruction. People also feel like they’re going to get a good value for their money since these schools don’t have to worry about paying taxes like other public schools do.
Another option is homeschooling. This works in the same way as a regular church school, with only the difference that the children stay at home. They still go to meetings and learn what the bible says, but their curriculum is more geared towards studying the Bible in a fun way. Parents can still teach the kids, but it’s just the parents themselves who will be making the decisions. It still gives the kids a strong education, though.
The best option for many parents is homeschooling. It’s completely legitimate, doesn’t require a diploma, and requires no specialized training. It allows the child to grow into a healthy, mature adult without any pressure from their peers. There are many good schools to choose from, and many good curriculums. Many parents even choose a program that’s not totally Christian, just for variety.
It’s up to you which school you decide on. All church schools have their benefits and drawbacks, but most of all they provide a great foundation to build a good life on. If you think this would be a good option for your child, make sure to talk to the principal and/or the school board to find out what you can expect from their schools. They should be able to give you some good advice to help you make the right decision. Either way, you’ll have a great education from a good school.
