Both Respect Life (Promotion of the Culture of Life) and Right to Life (Anti-abortion, Anti-euthanasia) connections can be made through St. Robert parishioners
October is Respect Life Month. Respect Life Sunday occurs in late January. Volunteers are needed to plan, implement or assist with Respect Life activities.
In 2013, thousands of messages were sent by practicing Catholics in support of the bills: H.R. 940 and S. 1204, both focused upon Conscientious Objection within the Affordable Care Act. Congress has not yet acted on Health Care Conscientious Rights, hence neither you, nor I, nor the Little Sisters of the Poor are exempted from paying for abortions, in spite of what a Supreme Court Judge may write.
As they begin their legislative discussions, it is important to remind your members of Congress in this New Year to take action in support of this legislation.
Please send a message to your elected official today or call 202-224-3121 to urge your U.S. Representative and Senator to support the Health Care Conscience Rights Act.
Respect Life Updates
1. BABY UPDATE: Remember the babies we have been praying for since March? Two of their mothers have kept in touch. Praise God, both babies were born healthy and the mothers have recovered well. One mother is even back to work already.Thank you for your prayers and financial contributions to these precious baby boys.
2. 40 DAYS FOR LIFE: Thank you to all who participated in this year’s 40 Days for Life Campaign. A total of 673 babies’ lives were saved in the 306 participating cities.
3. PRAYER CALENDAR: A prayer calendar is being coordinated to make sure people are praying at the abortion clinic on Flushing Road every Saturday from 7:30am to 11:30am. As this grows, we’ll add Fridays and other days of the week. Please contact Tina Phillpotts if you’d like to be a part of these life-saving efforts…even one hour per month can make a difference. 4. BABY’S LIFE SAVED: Praise God-on Friday, November 15th a baby’s life was saved at the abortion clinic on Flushing Road. A family who prays regularly on Fridays was there and is now in contact with the mother and father to help connect them to resources they may need for their baby.
