Notes from Father Gordon ~ 7/3/16

Fr GordonJesus said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.

Baptism Leads to Mission: As we are baptized into the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we have a sharing in his mission of salvation.

Not only must we spend our lives cultivating this saving relationship with Jesus—seeking to know, love and serve him more each day—but, having received so great a gift, we are privileged to share this good news with those around us.

In this sense, we are all called to be missionaries!

And yet we need dedicated men and women to teach, preach and serve the spiritual needs of the world.

Vocations begin at home.

Please encourage your children and grandchildren to prayerfully seek their calling from God, whatever it may be.

And even if the Lord does not call us to religious life, there is so much we can do to catechize ourselves and the world around us.

Independence Day: Thank you to all who have prayed for our nation during the Fortnight for Freedom (June 21st – July 4th).

St. Robert Parish will offer 8:30am Mass on Monday, July 4th, and will conclude the Fortnight with special prayers after Mass.

Please do come and pray for our religious freedom!
