With the help of their parents, children are prepared in second grade through their school religion class, religious education program, or home study through the Family-Centered Program.  First Eucharist banners are made at banner making sessions during the first week in February.  A parent or adult is asked to accompany each child to this session.  Once preparation is completed in early February, children are invited to sign up for a weekend liturgy during which they are presented by their parents for Eucharist.  A special liturgy held on the first Saturday in May at 9:30 a.m. allows the children to celebrate with their classmates as a group.
